Duke logged its highest turnover rate of the season against Lipscomb, including 16 of their 22 turnovers in the first half. Lipscomb and Texas Tech combined to outscore the Blue Devils 44-21 in points off turnovers.1
Duke overcame the turnovers against Lipscomb by rebounding over half of their missed shots (52.6%), but followed up that performance by only grabbing 6 of their 25 misses in Madison Square Garden (20.6%). The two games represent Duke’s highest and lowest offensive rebounding rates so far this season.
At 61.2% eFG, Texas Tech became the first Duke opponent on the season to post an effective field goal percentage over 50%, including 72.4% eFG in the second half. The Red Raiders made 6 three-pointers after halftime, compared to just 1 in the first half, and went 3 for 4 from beyond the arc in the final 6:12 - Duke missed 10 of their final 11 triples.2 Christian Anderson scored 23 of his 27 points in the second half for Texas Tech.
The Blue Devils recorded a 55.8% free throw rate, but converted just 17 of 29 from the stripe (0.59 points-per-shot), including 6 of 13 in the second half.
With Duke’s win over Lipscomb, Jon Scheyer became the fastest ACC coach to reach 100 career wins, and the fifth fastest since 1930.3
