Duke led Virginia 19-12 at the 7:52 mark of the first half before three consecutive threes in 1:39 - two from Darren Harris and one from Dame Sarr - pushed the lead to 16 points. Credit Darren for staying ready when his number is called.3
After the win against Virginia, Coach Scheyer said “I thought our guys had great determination. They came out ready, and just kept on pushing in those inflection points. I couldn’t be more proud to be able to win a share of the ACC, especially in this day and age where it is not necessarily a balanced schedule all the time; it’s just a different day and age. We won’t take this for granted. With that said, we don’t like shares. We have more work that we want to do, but I’m just proud of all nine guys that played and impacted the game.”
Over the last five ACC games, Duke’s opponents are averaging just 0.87 points-per-possession on offense.4
